DULF, GEORGE. Military bandmaster (10 April 1872 in Springfield, Illinois; 1943 in Chicago, Illinois). He was a leader of a Knight of Pythias band, along with Alexander Armant, in 1898 in Chicago, Illinois. The entire band was inducted into the United States Armed Forces in 1899, becoming the Eighth Illinois Band (later the Illinois National Guard Regiment Band) with Armant as bandmaster and Dulf as principal musician.
