DUPREE, WILLIAM H. Brass bandsman (18 March 1838 in Petersburg, Virginia; 22 June 1934 in Neponset, Massachusetts). His family moved to Chillicothe, Ohio, when he was a few weeks old, then to Michigan, then back to Ohio in 1853. In 1859 he joined the Union Valley Brass Band of Chillicothe, playing the B-flat baritone and later serving as the band's manager.
