JAMAL, AHMAD (née FRITZ JONES). Jazz pianist (2 July 1930 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania). He began playing piano when he was three years old and began piano study with Mary Cardwell Dawson at the age of seven. He competed successfully in piano competitions by the time he was eleven and performed publicly on recitals.
