LEWIS, GEORGE FRANCIS (née GEORGE ZENON). Jazz clarinetist (13 July 1900 in New Orleans, Louisiana; 31 December 1968 in New Orleans). He played various reed instruments as a child; at sixteen he obtained his own clarinet and began specializing on that instrument.
