McKINNEY, NINA MAE. Entertainer (1912 in Lancaster, South Carolina; May 1967 in New York, New York). Although best known as an actress, she was also an entertainer. She received her education in the public schools of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She went to New York during the 1920s, where she was a dancer in Blackbirds of 1928 and thereafter sang in many films, including King Vidor's Hallelujah (1929).
