MENSAH, EMMANUEL TETTEH. Jazz ["highlife"] bandleader (31 May 1919 in Accra, Ghana). He obtained his education at the Accra Government School and at the Accra High School (1935-39). He began music study as a child, playing fife in elementary school and studying organ and saxophone in high school.
