COLLARD & COLLARD. English firm of Pianoforte-makers, established in London early in the present century in company with ’Clementi. The founder of the present firm was W. F. Collard, a Frenchman, to whom is due the chief merit of the excellence attained by the firm in its workmanship. The firm hold the patents of several important inventions applicable to the Pf. Frederick W. Collard of this firm (1772–1860), composed some vocal music.
