SCHIEDMAYER & SONS. German firm of Pianoforte makers, established in Stuttgart, 1809. Celebrated on the Continent for the superior make of their instruments. Another firm bearing the same name, but known as J. & P. Schiedmayer, have been established in Stuttgart since 1854. Both firms have gained prizes at various Exhibitions for the good quality of their manufactures.
