Balsys (Bal'sis), Eduardas Kosto (12–20–1919, Nikolayev; 1984). Lithuanian comp. and pedagogue. Grad. 1950 from the Lithuanian Cons., where he was a pupil of Račiunas. In 1953 completed post-grad. study with Voloshinov at the L. Cons. and joined the faculty of the Lithuanian Cons. His pupils incl. Barkauskas, Bražinskas, Gorbulskis, and G. Kutavičius.
