Barisons (Barison), Peteris Martynovich (4–5/18–1904, Skudras, Jekabpils; 7–13–1947, same). Latvian cond., comp., and pedagogue. Grad. 1934 from the Riga Cons., where his teachers incl. Vītols and Jānis Mediņš . Later taught there, becoming chair of its comp. dept. in 1944. His Second Sym. displays the infl. of R. Strauss.
