Buni [Bunée] (Bunatyan), Vartan Georgiyevich (2–15/27–1888, Echmiadzin, Yerevan distr.; 6–6–1960, ? Yerevan). Studied with Komitas (1901–5), and with N. Kheifets (1922–24) in Rostov-on-Don. Did research on the reconstruction of folk instruments. Works: songs; pieces for folk inst orch; transcr. of romances by U. Gadzhibekov , Ippolitov-Ivanov, Komitas, Z.
