Bunin [Búneen], Revol' Samuilovich (4–6–1924, M.; 1976 [1980]). Grad. 1945 from the M. Cons., where his teachers incl. Litinsky, Shebalin (theory), and Shostakovich . Was Shostakovich's composition assistant at the L. Cons. (1947) and an editor of Muzgiz (1948–53). Among his finest works is the Conc.-Sym. for vn and orch.
