Chulaki, Mikhail Ivanovich

Chulaki [Chulákee], Mikhail Ivanovich (11–6/19–1908, Simferopol). Comp. and pedagogue. Grad. 1931 from the L. Cons., where he studied with V. Shcherbachyov . Held administrative and teaching positions, incl. at the L. Cons. (1933–41, 1944–48) and M. Cons. (from 1948). His students incl. Abbasov and Krylatov. Has also publ. materials on contemporary Russian music (On the Music That Surrounds Us, M., 1965).
