Fan Ark (von Ark), Karl Karlovich (8–28–1839 [1842], P.; 8–11–1902, same). Pianist, pedagogue, and comp. Following study with Leschetizky (1850), received additional guidance from N. Zaremba (1861–63) in mus. classes of the RMS, P. section, where he also perf. duets with P. Chaikovsky . On the invitation of A. Rubinshtein , joined the faculty of the P.
