Gasanov [Gasánuhff], Gotfrid Aliyevich (4–18/5–1–1900, Derbent; 5–28–1965, M.). Pianist and comp. Grad. 1926 from the L. Cons., studying with Kalafati. Taught, concertized, and did ethnographical research. Was the first professional Dagestan comp. and wrote the first Dagestan opera, ballet, and mus. comedy.
