Jūrisalu, Heino (8–13–1930, Tartu). Estonian comp. Grad. 1954 from the Tallinn Cons., where he studied with Eller and taught from 1964. His students incl. Sumera. Is an important figure in light music and jazz, styles that also appear in his “art” music along with Estonian folk elements. Has also written a method for the recorder.
