Kopytman [Kuhpitmán], Mark Ruvimovich (12–6–1929, Kamenets-Podolsky, Ukraine). Physician and comp. Grad. 1952 from the Chernovitsy Medical Institute and 1955 from the Lvov Cons., where he studied with Simovich (1952–55). Also was a pupil of S. Bogatyryov at the M. Cons., completing a postgrad. course in 1958. Held teaching positions at several Soviet music institutes (1955–72), incl. the M.
