Manevich [Manyéveech], Aleksandr Mendelevich (1–7–1908, Starodub, Bryansk distr.). Studied comp. with A. N. Aleksandrov (1925), and with M. Shteinberg at the L. Cons. (1926–27). Continued his training with A. N. Aleksandrov at the M. Cons. (grad. 1943), and also received advice from Gladkovsky, Gnesin, and V. Shcherbachyov . Joined the faculty of the L. Cons. in 1955.
