Melikov [Myéleekuhff], Arif Dzhangirovich (9–13–1933, Baku). Grad. 1958 from the Azerbaijan Cons., where he studied comp. with K. Karayev and later taught. His music adheres to the goals of socialist realism. Is best known for the ballet Legend of Love.
