Partskhaladze [Puhrtskhaládzi], Aleksey Alekseyevich (4–12/24–1897, Khoni, Kutaisi distr. [now Tsulukidze]; 8–15–1972, Batumi). Comp. and pedagogue. Father of M. Partskhaladze . Grad. 1918 from the physics and math dept. of the Tbilisi Pedagogical Institute and 1930 from the Tbilisi Cons., where he was a pupil of Barkhudaryan. Also studied with Arakishvili, Bagrinovsky, Ippolitov-Ivanov, and Z. Paliashvili . Taught at the Batumi Mus. Sch. from 1930–56 and collected over 200 folk melodies…
