Pustyl'nik, Iosif Yakovlevich (1–4/17–1905, Balta, Odessa distr.). Grad. 1929 from the Odessa Cons., where he studied vn with P. Stolyarsky, and also cond. Later attended the Central Mus. Sch. in L. (1929–31), working with Ryazanov. Grad. 1936 from the L. Cons., then did post-grad. study there (1939–41, 1950–52) and joined the faculty (1954-).
