Zhubanov [Zhubánuhff], Akhmet Kuanovich (4–16–1906, Kosuaktam, Aktyubinsk distr.; 5–30–1968, Alma-Ata). Cond., pedagogue, and comp. Father of Zhubanova. Grad. 1932 from the L. Cons., then held cond. and teaching positions. Publ. material on Kazakh music and musicians and was one of the founders of professional Kazakh music.
