The Mevlevî Dervishes

The Mevlevî order was organized in Konya by Mevlânâ's son Sultan Veled (d. 1312). It was initially associated with the Seljuk and then the Karaman states of Anatolia; its first permanent establishment (tekke) in the new Ottoman capital of Istanbul, the Galata mevlevîhâne, was founded in 1494.
