BURNETTE, DORSEY (b. Memphis, Tenn., December 28, 1932–August 19, 1979) Along with his famous brother Johnny, Burnette was one of the pioneers of ROCKABILLY before moving into a more mainstream country career as a songwriter. The Burnette brothers were raised in a house full of country music, and Dorsey remembered traveling to Nashville with his dad to hear THE GRAND OLE OPRY.
