Gerschefski, Edwin (Peter). Meriden, Connecticut, 10 June 1909 – Athens, Georgia, 17 December 1992 Gerschefski studied at Yale University with David Stanley Smith and Richard Donovon (1926–31). On a Charles Ditson Fellowship he was a pupil at the Matthay School in London (1931–33). He also received piano lessons from Artur Schnabel in Italy (1935).
