Liebermann, Lowell. New York, New York, 22 February 1961 Liebermann began piano lessons at the age of eight, making his concert debut in 1977 at the Carnegie Recital Hall, New York. He studied with David Diamond, at first privately, later with him at the Juilliard School (1979–84), where he also received lessons from Jacob Lateiner (piano) and Vincent Persichetti (composition).
