McKean Sisters

Joy McKean (* NSW, 1930) country music singer-songwriter. She learned to play (piano, steel guitar, ukulele and piano accordion) from the age of nine, singing with her sister as the McKean Sisters 1940–53. After her marriage to Slim Dusty and the birth of her daughter (noted country singer Anne Kirkpatrick) in 1952, she settled in Sydney for a short time, but from 1953 was performing again in the Slim Dusty touring show.
