Rasp
Rasp A large stick or spear-thrower with notches, which is scraped by a smaller stick and is held vertically against the player's chest. It is used by Aboriginal people from the Kimberleys to accompany dyabi, songs which offer a commentary on contemporary events. There the rasp is also known as a dyabi stick, and is only used to accompany the dyabi songs. Dyabi songs are sung for entertainment and are individually owned by their composers. Grace Koch
