Vast

Vast Ballet by Barry Conyngham (1988), choreography by Graeme Murphy. Commissioned for a national tour to celebrate the Australian Bicentennial, its four acts represent features of the vast Australian continent. It was first performed by the combined forces of the WA and Queensland Ballets, the Australian Dance Theatre and the Sydney Dance Co. in 1988. Recorded by the Australian Youth Orchestra, cond. J. Hopkins (1990, ABC 432 528–2), and published (Universal Edition, 1987).
