Victor Record Society

Victor Record Society An organization established in 1937 by Thomas F. Joyce, as a promotion for Victor records. A small record player attachment for a radio was offered to members at $14.95, and the concept proved attractive enough to draw 150,000 members, who agreed to buy a specified number of discs. A boost to lagging sales resulted, especially in the popular record area.
