Allison, Luther 17 August 1939; Widener, AR – 12 August 1997; Madison, WI Singer, songwriter, guitarist, harmonica player. One of many great Chicago bluesmen to emerge from the Chicago club scene of the 1950s and 1960s, Allison found considerable local success, which translated into a more wide-ranging popularity during the late 1960s and early 1970s with a reemergence in the mid-1990s after some time spent touring in Europe.
