Jenkins, Gus 24 March 1931; Birmingham, AL – 22 December 1985; Los Angeles, CA Pianist and vocalist, influenced by Walter Davis. Recorded for Chess in 1953 and then moved to Los Angeles, recording for Specialty, Combo, Cash, and Flash, and for his own Pioneer International and General Artists labels (he also leased sides to Tower and SAR).
