Townsend, Vernell Perry 5 April 1930; Brinkley, AR – 21 September 1995; St. Louis, MO Townsend moved with her family to St. Louis while young. She met and married Henry Townsend in the mid-1960s and occasionally performed with him. Some recordings of her with her husband were issued on the Adelphi, Nighthawk, Wolf, and Southland labels.
