Ba, Be, Bi, Bo, Bu (FR) Poulenc's setting (1960, La Courte Paille # 4) for voice and piano of a poem by Carême from La Cage aux grillons (The Cricket Cage, 1959). The sounds of the words are evocative of the exercises with which schoolchildren learn vowels.
