Hôtel (FR) Hotel. Poulenc's setting (1940, Banalités #2) of a poem by Apollinaire first published in Lacerba on 15 April 1914, then in Le Guetteur mélancolique (The Melancholy Watchman, 1952 [posth.]). The poem forms one section of a longer group titled »Banalités.« Poulenc writes: »Paris, a room in Montparnasse.« The song is dedicated to Marthe Bosredon.
