Le lac

Le lac (FR) The Lake. Poulenc's setting (1934, Huit chansons polonaises #8) for voice and piano of a translation of »Jezioro,« a Polish patriotic text and melody. The melody is a Polish folk tune from Upper Silesia. Poulenc writes: »›Le Lac‹ is the most successful, most personal of them.« The song is dedicated to Maria Modrakowska.
