Le Lilas (FR) The Lilac. Debussy's setting (1882) for voice and piano of the 17th poem by Banville from Les Cariatides-Livre Troisième-Les Caprices en dizains à la manière de Clément Marot (Cariatids-Book III-Caprices in dizains in the style of Clément Marot, [1839/42]). Debussy repeats the third and tenth lines of the ten-line poem each once. The song manuscript does not have the title »Le Lilas.«
