La Mort des amants (FR) The Death of the Lovers. Debussy's setting (1887) for voice and piano of the 1st poem by Baudelaire from the »La Mort« (Death) section of Les Fleurs du Mal (Flowers of Evil, 1861, 2nd edition). The poem is the 121st in the whole volume. The poem, possibly written as early as 1846, was first published on 9 April 1851 in Le Messager de l'Assemblée.
