Peut-il se reposer? (FR) Can He Rest? Poulenc's setting (1935, Cinq Poèmes de Paul Eluard #1) for voice and piano of the 13th (final) section of »Confections« from A toute épreuve (Total Resistance, 1930) by Eluard. Eluard's original poem has no internal punctuation, only periods at the ends of lines 4, 8, 12, and 14, unlike the version published as Poulenc's song setting. The song is dedicated to Madame la Vicomtesse de Noailles.
