Rondel-Le temps a laissié son manteau
Rondel-Le temps a laissié son manteau (MF) The Weather Has Taken Off Its Cloak. Debussy's setting (1904, Trois Chansons de France #1) for voice and piano of the 31st rondel by Charles d'Orléans. Banville was inspired by the rondels of d'Orléans to compose his own; he placed the first two lines of this one as epigraph at the beginning of the set. Debussy uses a variant edition with the words raiant for luyant and qui en for qu'en.
