Spleen (1) Debussy's setting (1886, rev. 1903, Ariettes oubliées, #6) for voice and piano of the second poem in the Aquarelles section of Romances sans paroles (1874) by Verlaine. This poem was set by 30 composers in addition to Debussy, including: Charles Bordes (1863 – 1909), Sylvio Lazzari (1858 – 1944) Trois Mélodies, Op. 19 #1 (1894), John Ireland (1879 – 1962) Marigold #3 (1913, in English).
