KAUSTINEN FOLK MUSIC FESTIVAL , a huge folk music festival begun in 1968 and held each summer in the third week of July. Kaustinen, in central Ostrobothnia, where folk music has been played in almost every house since the 1700s and where a special local folk music style has developed, is Finland's most musical village.
