Charles Starne Belsterling was a successful lawyer, a steel executive, and a lover of bands and band music. Although he composed only one march for band, the musicality of that work (as well as his surname!) indicates a strong possibility of inherited musical ability. For nearly fifty years band members have performed this march and wondered about its composer.
