Brelka
Brelka divergent *double pipes of Russia, terminating in large bells of horn or coiled bark, with idioglott reeds protected by a reed cap. The pipes are of unequal length and are played with one hand holding each pipe. In the early 20th c., V. V. Andreef of St. Petersburg fitted single pipes with keys and incorporated them into his balalaika orchestra. In this form the brelka had a compass f1–e2 or f2 and was notated a 4th lower (14).
