Bul tyang'apena
Bul tyang'apena (drum of canes), *percussion sticks of the Lango of Uganda, used by boys as practice drums. A piece of cane is broken into 3 sections, still attached to each other, the outer 2 being bent to form a U. These are inserted into the ground, and the center portion, which forms a bridge, is beaten with 2 sticks (195). Wachsmann, K. P. (chapter on musical instruments), in Trowell, M., and Wachsmann, K.
