Chirula

Chirula [U.], Basque galoubet with slightly conical bore, 2 front fingerholes, and a rear thumbhole, played with the left hand, the right being engaged in striking a Basque *tanborín (drum). Also called chiro, chirola, chirolo, chiula, churula, xiula. See also: chistu.
