Diaphone
Diaphone organ stop of reed pipes introduced 1888 by Blackett & Howden of Newcastle, one of many attempts at replacing the metal tongue by some other arrangement: instead of a tongue it had a leather valve that beat against the wood. This was further developed by Robert Hope-Jones in 1893. It was built at 32', 16', and 8' pitches (101, 133). Sort by:DefaultAuthorTitleDateAscendingDescending Hunt, N. A. Bonavia.
