Dital harp
Dital harp name given by Edward Light of London to an improved version of his *British harp lute in 1819. The ditals of his invention were finger keys that stopped the strings and raised the pitch by a semitone. The number of strings was augmented to 19 or more, playable with both hands. They were tuned e♭0-b♭2 or higher, to e♭3. Like the other Light instrs., the dital harp was tuned in E♭ and notated a 6th higher, in C (89, 204).
