Electrophonic carillon
Electrophonic carillon as a result of applied electronics, carillons since the 1930's are usually composed of *tubular bells, generally of constant diam., played from a keyboard; the acoustically generated tone is picked up, amplified, and fed into a system of loud-speakers in the tower. Most electrophonic carillons are so arranged that they can be used both as organ chimes and for tower music (155). Peery, Paul D. Chimes and Electronic Carillons. New York, 1948.
