Frame harp

(Fr.: harpe à cadre; Ger.: Rahmenharfe), harp composed of 3 sections: resonator; neck or harmonic curve; and column or pillar, also called fore-pillar. The column takes the tension of the strings, consequently frame harps are able to withstand far greater tension than are other types. Non-European countries (except Siberia) do not know the frame harp (170).
